Announcing the Intel® Core™ i7 Processor!
Intel just announced the brand name for the first desktop versions of its next generation microprocessor family, the Intel® Core™ i7 processor. The Intel® Core™ i7 processor is based on Intel's dynamic Core™ microarchitecture (formerly code named Nehalem). This new scalable and modular processor design delivers outstanding performance and power efficiency. It will be the foundation for a new generation of Intel mobile, desktop and server processors.
The new processors will feature Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology (also known as simultaneous multi-threading) and deliver 8- threaded performance on 4 cores (2 threads per core). Processor number identifiers will be used to differentiate different products within the Intel® Core™ i7 desktop processor family and will be announced at launch.
Intel® Core™ i7 processor brand assets for the two desktop "performance" and Extreme Edition versions now to prepare for the Q4 2008 product launch. The Brand Reimbursement Roadmap is already updated with the new assets. Trademark and Logo Usage Guidelines and label specification sheets are also posted. Ads with the new brand assets can only be published on or after the official launch date (to be announced). That same date will be the first day for systems based on these products to appear on store shelves.
